I swear, sometimes this blog reads like a criminal rap sheet.
The latest sports star to get in trouble with the law is (very near future) Hall-of-Famer and all-time NFL sacks leader Bruce Smith.
Bruce was driving home from dinner in May when he was pulled over for driving on the shoulder and was clocked at going 73 mph in a 55 mph zone.
During today's trial, Smith and his lawyers testified that 11 knee surgeries during Smith's career made it difficult to complete sobriety tests that included walking a straight line heel-to-toe and standing for 30 seconds on one leg.
The judge didn't buy it, and gave the former Buffalo Bill a 90-day suspended jail term, $350 fine for DUI, a suspended drivers license for a year and a $90 fine for speeding.
This isn't the first time Smith has gotten in trouble for his penchant for drinking and driving- he has had two previous DUI arrests.
Think he got the message this time?
Nah.
