The MLB All-Star game rarely fails to disappoint (at least in their pre-game ceremonies) and this year's 80th installment will be no different.
Sheryl Crow, a Missouri native, will sing "The Star-Spangled Banner" before Tuesday night's game in St. Louis.
Country star Sara Evans, also a Missouri native, will sing "God Bless America" during the seventh-inning stretch.
President Barack Obama is throwing out the ceremonial first pitch.
As for the events leading up to the big game, "American Idol" winner David Cook will perform two songs before the Home Run Derby on Monday. Nikko Smith, a 2005 "American Idol" finalist and son of Cardinals Hall of Famer Ozzie Smith, will sing the national anthem.
(If they wanted proven American Idols to do the job, they should have tapped the girl who sang the National Anthem at the opening of the New Yankee Stadium. The pipes on her...wow!)
Derek, Mo, Tex and everyone else will be showing their greatness to the world on July 14 at 8pm on FOX.
